At his one year doctor's appointment, Mason weighed in at 20 pounds, 8 ounces and was 27 3/4 inches tall. He got a few shots and took them like a champ (only screamed a second when the needled went in) but the nurse practitioner was concerned that he wasn't talking/saying any words (no 'mama' or 'dada' yet, just sounds). She suggested we contact Early Childhood Intervention for an assessment on his language and after several phone tags, we met this afternoon. Mason passed the assessment and is "developmentally age appropriate in all area." Not that we were worried, but now we have the 'official' report to say so.
This week marks a few special milestones for Mason. On Monday, Mommy and Daddy went away for the night and left Mason with Momo for his first ever night away from the parents EVER. We had to celebrate our anniversary so skipped away to Boerne for the evening. Mason did wonderful with Momo and stayed on schedule --- even though it was his first day ever to NOT nurse! Yeap, we made it 13 months of breastfeeding!!! This morning we were a little worried how Mason would take his morning milk without being from Mommy, but he and Daddy sat in the living room while he chugged down almost 8 ounces of milk without skipping a beat. We're pretty proud of our little man!
