A Big Boy First

Lately Mason has been able to recognize when his diaper is wet. He will either 'grab' himself or pull his shorts down and attempt to pull his diaper off. The other night he was frantically doing this when I asked him if he needed to go "tee tee" in the potty. He shook his head yes and hauled his little bootie down the hallway to the bathroom. We took the diaper off (leaving him completely naked) and he sat on his little potty for a few minutes. Much to my surprise, tee-tee came out! Mason was pretty proud of himself, and my hooping and hollering probably didn't help! He would stand up and 'examine' his work. He hasn't done this since, but at least he does know when it's time for a new diaper. Now if we can just get to the point where he realizes it BEFORE he needs to go!
